Salthill Air Show (25 June, 3pm)

The Salthill Air Show is one of the few free Air Shows in Europe and is held every year along the Salthill Promenade on the shores of Galway Bay. Up to 100,000 people have lined the Salthill promenade in years gone by and this years promises to draw the same numbers.

Clare Island Singles Weekend (10 June - 12 June)

This weekend is specifically aimed at single people of all ages over 25, looking for a weekend away to socialise and meet other single people. Siamsa - The Galway Folk & Theatre Group (14 June - 1 September)

Irish singing, dancing, music and drama, Monday to Friday, 8:45pm to 10:30pm, Claddagh Hall, Nimo's Pier, Galway. Siamsa - An evening of Irish traditional music, song and dance. The 16th year of Siamsa gives us a wonderful concert of harp, fiddles, flute, whistle, concertina, accordion, banjo, mandolin and bodhrán. Dancing is seen in traditional form, the "sean nós" style, set dancing and step dancing - which is now popular throughout the world. Children and adults intermingle on stage in a most natural family atmosphere. The one and a half hour Show concludes with folk drama depicting the major festivals of Ireland - no language is used as music, mime and dance are the perfect medium... Spancilhill Fair (23 June)

Traditional Annual Horse Fair that the famous song of the same name was written about. The annual fair attracts 1,000 - 2,000 horses and a lot of foreign buyers. Contact: Ms. Eva Considine. Tel: 00 353 65 6835483.

Guinness Blues Festival, Castlebar, Co. Mayo (6 - 7 June)
