grangemoreGrangemore Residents Group Formedgalway.net news , 13 Aug 2002 A new committee has been formed for the Grangemore Residents Association following a recent meeting in the Glen Oaks Hotel. Grangemore estate forms an extension of Cruachan estate, close to Miller's Lane and the Western Distributor Road, Galway. A general area clean-up is planned for this Saturday (August 17th) at 11.00am – later if it is raining! In the evening, there will be a barbecue at the Green at 7.30 pm – please bring a burger and a bottle! The clean-up will commence at the Green: householders should please bring an implement – shovel, brush and gloves – and weed killer and a strimmer are being arranged. The Group has long term plans for better signposting to direct visitors to the area, alleviating a flooding problem at the Green and planting shrubs. Concern was also expressed at the extent of dumping of builders refuse on Miller's Lane. The Group will shortly meet with officials in City Hall to arrange remedies for these major items. |
