At last night's meeting of Galway Chamber's Council outgoing President Ms. Hannah Kiely handed over the presidential chain to incoming President Dr. Chris Coughlan, Deputy President of Galway Chamber. Dr. Chris Coughlan is a senior executive at the Hewlett-Packard Company, European Software Centre, Galway. Previous to this he worked for Compaq, Digital Equipment Corporation and Nixdorf. He is a graduate of the National University of Ireland, INSEAD the European Business School and the University of Keele. He is a Chartered Physicist, a member of the Institute of Physics and a Fellow of the Marketing Institute. Chris is a member of the Irish Government's Information Society Commission, chairman of WESTBIC, the North-West business innovation centres and a director of the Galway Technology Centre. He is also chairman of the Galway Arts Centre. He writes, lectures and broadcasts regularly on new media and future technologies. Chris is married with three children. In his speech last night Dr. Coughlan paid tribute and special thanks to the outgoing President Hannah Kiely for her hard work and dedication over the last year. Releated Links
