385 jobs to go in BallinasloeSquare D closes in Ballinasloe: 385 jobs lost385 jobs are to be lost in Ballinasloe as a result of the closure of Square D, a circuit-breaker manufacturer. The company, part of Schneider Electric, has been in Ballinasloe since 1971. A fall off in demand from the telecommunications sector was blamed for the closure. The announcement is huge setback for Ballinasloe and surrounding areas. AT Cross, another major employer in the town shed 100 jobs two years ago. Related Links |
