New air route from Galway to Manchester

Aer Arann Express launches new route from Galway to Manchester

Aer Arann Express today announced the introduction of a direct daily service between Galway and Manchester. The service will commence on 9 June 2003 using a 48 seat ATR42 aircraft. The flight will depart Galway at 19:05 and arrive in Manchester at 20:20. The return flight will depart Manchester at 20:50 and arrive at 22:05. Fares are expected to start at EUR 129 return including taxes.

Aer Arann Express currently operates five routes between the UK and Ireland, as well as providing services to all eight regional Irish airports. The airline is also adding a new 66-seater ATR72 aircraft to its fleet to provide additional capacity on its existing routes.

Galway Chamber of Commerce have welcomed the announcement. Chamber president Dr. Chris Coughlan said "This is a very positive development for Galway and further establishes Galway's gateway status. Galway Chamber will continue to lobby on access issues and sees this development as a major step along the way."
