CROÃ Cardiac ClubCROÍ Cardiac ClubLocal heart charity, CROÍ, has teamed up with the Western Health Board to offer two separate exercise programmes for heart patients. Paul Gillen, who is a health promotion officer with the Western Health Board, will be at the CROÍ Cardiac Club meeting in Cong, which takes place in Ryan's Hotel on Wednesday, May 14th at 7pm. This meeting will take the form of a workshop to explore key concepts affecting cardiac patients, including health, physical activity and its benefits. It will also focus on barriers to participation in exercise. The two exercise programmes are entitled 'Healthy Hearts for Life' and 'PACE', which stands for Personal Assistance in Choosing Exercise. Membership of the CROÍ Cardiac Clubs is free of charge and offers unique out-of-hospital support to heart patients in a community setting. The charity is extending an invitation to family members, friends and colleagues of heart patients wishing to attend to come along to the regular meetings.
