Royal Tara China to close - 80 jobs lost

Royal Tara China is to close with a loss of 80 jobs. The factory is to wind down operations over several months with all 80 jobs expected to be shed by December 2003. Rising costs and increased competition from Asia was blamed for the closure.

Royal Tara China was founded in 1953 by Kerry O'Sullivan. It initially specialized in fine bone china products, but in recent years diversivied, producing a wide range of hand crafted products.
