The next Kelly Clan Gathering takes place on 13th, 14th & 15th May 2005 at the Quality Hotel Clarinbridge. Details of Programme will be available at a later date
"The Kelly Clan" one of Ireland's largest Clans is going to hold it's Clan Gathering on 25^th 26^th April 2003 in Westport. This is just the second occasion that the Clan Gathering has been held outside it's historic Principality of Ui Maine in Galway and Roscommon.
Significantly, the area of Westport has been chosen due to the large number of Kellys who have lived in this part of Mayo since time immemorial.
A panel of guest speakers, including the renowned historian Dr Joseph Kelly FRCSI, Clan Ullamh will give a series of lectures on the local Kelly families. Dr Kelly was born in and he still retains strong family connections with the area.
Among the organisers of the Gathering is the eminent Dublin based Solicitor. Sean O Ceallaigh, who is a senior member of the Clan and the Galway based Architect Simon Kelly, whose family have business interests in the town of Westport for generations.
There will also be a very social side to the weekend, in the tradition of the Kellys, who are famed for their hospitality. All are welcome to participate and further information may be had by contacting
