StreetMacnas Parade (Áit Ait)
Company: Macanas Macnas have been at the forefront of street spectacle and performance in Ireland for the past 20 years. Having discovered an ancient map containing details of a place that up until now was assumed to be mythical, intrepid Macnas explorers embark on a historic expedition to find Áit Ait... Featuring a cast of up to 500 performers, teams of drummers, dancers and special effects. The Macnas Festival Parade is supported by The Arts Council and Galway City Council.

Company: Macanas absurd families, men, women, children, weird and wonderful, characters sit still and silent, watching you, watching them. Life-size puppets created by French artist Claude Merle appear in unexpected places from William Street to Quay Street throughout the Festival.
