Galway Chamber welcomes increased resources for Eyre Square

Galway Chamber welcomes increased resources for Eyre Square

Galway Chamber today welcomed the increased resources evident on the Eyre Square project in the last fortnight.

Speaking on the Keith Finnegan Show on Galway Bay FM today, Michael Coyle, Chamber CEO expressed the delight of Galway Chamber and its members with the visibly increased level of work activity on the project:

"Since last Autumn Galway Chamber, due to the serious concerns of its members, has been lobbying Galway City Council to increase the work activity on the Eyre Square redevelopment project to ensure the earliest possible completion date for the project.

"In recent weeks that call appears to have been answered and we welcome the statement today by Galway City Council that additional resources are being applied to the project and that the works will be completed by late October."

Mr. Coyle added that Galway Chamber is now hopeful that the current level of momentum will be maintained though the upcoming Williamsgate phase and through to final completion. He said that the Chamber would monitor progress carefully on behalf of its business members and continue to work with Galway City Council to ensure a speedy and satisfactory completion of the project.
