Galway Shopping Centre

The Galway Shopping Centre on the Headford Road was the first centre of its kind to be established in the city. With almost 100 shops, it is the largest shopping outlet west of the Shannon. Stores here include Penney's (Tel 565095) and Visual Eyes (Tel 563221). An excellent range of smaller shops include fashion outlets, shoe shops, newagents, a record shop, a health shop. Several restaurants also cater for customers needs.

One of the centre's major attractions is the newly upgraded Leisuredome (Tel 562820), whose features include a bowling alley, a laser games area, a children's play area. In addition is a large space with facilities designed especially for children. While not a creche, it is a childminding facility.

Peak Physique (Tel 562820), as the name suggests, is a city gym which is very popular in Galway.

Excellent car parking facilities, with spaces for 800 cars are also available.

For DIY enthusiasts, Atlantic Homecare (Tel 565869) opens every day while the other shops open from 9am to 6pm , on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays with late openings every Thursday and Friday.
